Module 1: Postures, Props & Adjustments

  • Teaching verbally, teaching visually & adjustments for standing, seated, twists, back bends & some inversions

  • The use of blocks and props for all bodies

  • Developing your language style, including use of Sanskrit in a class setting 

  • Benefits of poses & bandhas

  • Flow and Gentle flow sequencing

  • Posture clinics 

  • Developing confidence as a teacher with regularly teaching to small group

Module 2: Pranayama, Meditation & Mudra

  • Understanding the benefits and delivering four pranayama techniques

  • The placement of Pranayama within a class

  • Understanding the benefits of and delivering 3 meditation techniques

  • Understanding the benefits and delivering 6 mudra techniques and their placement in class

  • Developing confidence as a teacher with regularly teaching to small group

Module 3: Yin, Restorative & Yoga Nidra 

  • Benefits of Yin yoga, sequencing, and importance of silence

  • Benefits of Restorative yoga, sequencing, and importance of silence

  • Understanding the profound effects of yoga nidra and delivery

  • Developing confidence as a teacher with regularly teaching to small group

Module: Anatomy & Physiology (This will be completed on Microsoft Teams)

  • A look at the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous systems 

  • A look at the Musculoskeletal & facia system 

  • A look at the respiratory system with importance on the lungs, the diaphragm and the breath  

  • A look at the structure of the heart and how it works

This module is delivered alongside the other modules. You can complete it at any time within the course but early on is advised, so you can confidently teacher your students safely. 

This module is delivered by our A&P expert, Leane Owen MRes Bsc (Hons) PG dip HCPC MCSP

Module 5: Philosophy, practice and delivery of the eight limbs of yoga; the Yamas and Niyamas and the Chakra system

  • Patanjali’s path to enlightenment – the 8 limbs and their importance on and off the mat

  • A study of the Yamas and Niyamas and their importance in everyday life

  • A detailed look at each chakra, with postures, and philosophy

Module 6: Beyond the Mat the Business of yoga

  • Building your brand

  • Creative sequencing & the use of music in class

  • Curation of Playlists

  • Fining your style, personality and language 

  • Understanding your clients needs and their relationship with you

  • Setting your own boundaries and understanding your worth

  • An honest and compassionate approach to being a teacher inc. Q&As

  • The option to co-host a workshop or yoga holiday.

Accreditation 

Displaying your undeniable confidence as a teacher by teaching to small group for your final physical teaching assessment 1.5hrs.
